This extract gives the chilling timetable for the deliberate destruction of the village as part of “Alberich”. Several British newspapers ran an article on that outlined details from captured German documents. Vilages were razed, railways and roads blow up, water sources poisoned, buildings, dugouts and trenches booby-trapped. This was to hinder the British follow-up, and render the ground as operationally difficult as possible. Operation Alberich not only included the deep withdrawal to the Hindenburg Line but the systematic destruction by the Germans of the area being given up. Note the German defensive position known to the British as the Beugny-Ytres Line which ran close to the east of Frémicourt. The dark blue lines mark the British front line on 17 November 1916 (at the end of the Battle of the Somme) and 8 April 1917. Frémicourt is recaptured after Germans withdraw The eastwards shift in position that resulted from the German strategic withdrawal from the Somme to the Hindenburg Line (Unternehmen Alberich) in March-April 1917. Intelligence from air reconnaissance had detected barbed wire defences to the west and south of the village. From a British grid map dated 27 November 1916. It became used for billeting and organisation of supply for German forces on the Somme front. A subsequent clash with French forces and eventual stabilisation of the front left the village well behind German lines. Great War historyįrémicourt came into the war when German forces under Crown Prince Rupprecht advanced towards Bapaume on 26 September 1914. Illustrates very well the railway line that passed the north of the village. Before 1914, a standard gauge railway from Albert and Achiet-le-Grand passed the village on its northern side, going eastwards to Hermies, Marcoing and Cambrai. Local inhabitants are known as Frémicourtois (male) or Frémicourtoises (female).įrémicourt can trace some history back to at least the 1300s but never developed beyond being a rural, agricultural, hamlet and even by 1911 had a population of just 382. Frémicourt is within the Departement of Pas de Calais. It is served by Bus number 526 from Bapaume or Cambrai centre. Frémicourt lies 5km north east of the town of Bapaume, just off the main Route Nationale N30 road to Cambrai and near to Junction 14 of the A1/E15 motorway. I'm curious if anyone else out there has had issues with alcohol and drug screening while consuming this particular brand of kombucha or any other brands for that matter.Location and pre-war history Present-day map. I do not consume alcoholic beverages whatsoever so this is quite alarming. I basically need them to provide me documentation in support of their drinking causing the positive test. The representative said they are preparing a written response to my inquiry about the alcohol content of their drinks. I reached out to GT's customer service via e-mail earlier today and I received a phone call back fairly quickly in which the GT's representative requested additional information as to which blend/flavor I drank and how soon it was consumed before I tested. Today, I was just informed of my first and only positive test which occurred the same day I happened to drink a different brand kombucha called GT's (I normally drink Kevita). I've been undergoing random drug and alcohol testing for the past 14 months and have been a routine kombucha drinker since long before and during the course of these random tests.
